Student Council
Students
interested in running for a position must attend the information meeting during recess
with
their campaign manager. This meeting will be in Mrs. Patterson's room.

Thursday Petition Deadline
This
is the deadline for all petitions.
9/24-9/26
and 9/28/01 Monday - Wednesday: Friday Posters
Posters
must first be approved by Mrs. Patterson. Posters may be hung up in the hallways
"Buttons"
may NOT contain any food item. No posters are to be put on the wall behind
the
waterfountains. No posters may be put in the bathrooms. You are
limited to three posters
per
hallway and in the All-Purpose Room. You must get staff approval for posters to be
put up in
individual
classrooms. Use strapping tape and neatly hang the posters.

Monday - Wednesday Speech Preparations
Students
must present their speeches to Mrs. Patterson either before school from 7:45-8:00 a.m.
during
lunch
recess; or from 3:15-3:30 p.m. after school. Campaign managers must come with the
candidate
and
read their introductory speech. Please have speeches on a 3 X 5 (or 4 X 6) notecards
and bring
these
with you. Be prepared. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the wall in Mrs.
Patterson's classroom
door.

Monday Assembly for all Jr. High Students 1st Period
An assembly
will be held for ALL Junior High Students to hear the Executive Board candidates give
speeches.
This assembly will be held in the AllPurpose Room during 1st period.

Monday Speeches for Class VP and Homeroom Representatives
Candidates
from grades 6, 7, and 8 who are funning for Class Vice-President or Homeroom
Representatives
will give their speeches during science class. Candidates who are running for class
Vice-President
must make arrangements to miss a little of their other class. If, for example, 6A
has
science and
you are from 6C, then the candidates running for 6th grade VP must also speak to the 6A
class.
Whatever class you have during 6A science, you must let your other teacher
know that you will be
five
minutes late to your class. This will be true for the other 6th grade section as
well as for 7th and
8th
graders. Your campaign manage must also be present.
10/2/01 Tuesday
Elections
Elections will take
place during science class. Announcements of winners will be made by 10/3/01 during
morning announcements.
10/4/01 Thursday First
Executive Board Meeting
The first meeting with
the Executive Board Members will be held during lunch recess on Thursday.
This meeting is a must!
We set up your duties and set an agenda for the Student Council meeting
that will be held on
10/15/01.
10/15/01 Monday First
Student Council Meeting
The first Student
Council Meeting will be on Monday, October 15, 2001. This will be held during lunch
recess. We will
meet in Mrs. Patterson's Room. Come with your ideas!
